BUNKERSBefore leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made by him, and then leave the rake with the handle pointing toward the tee of the hole being played. 1. Always enter the bunker at the lowest point.
BUNKER RAKESAlways leave rake in the flat of the bunker with the handle parallel to the line of flight of the hole being played.
REPAIRING BALL MARKS2. Use repairer around all sides and slowly ease turf toward the centre of the mark. Do not lift the soil upwards.
| |||||
REPAIRING DIVOTS1.Never replace your divot. Even if you think it has roots which could grow, the next time the fairway is cut, the divot will be flicked out and cut to pieces leaving your divot hole exposed for the next player. 2. Instead, knock in all sides of the edge of the divot with your club as shown in the photos shown here. 3. Fill the cuts you make with sand as shown and ensure the sand is levelled with the surrounding grass. Never
think that by replacing the divot and covering it in sand, it will remain long
enough to attach itself to the fairway. By cutting surrounding grass
into the divot area, you are providing multiple interfaces between well rooted
grass and bear ground which will recover much faster than just filling the divot
with sand.

DAMAGE TO GREENSFlagsticks, Bags etc.Players should ensure that, when putting down bags, or the flagstick, no damage is done to the putting green, and that neither they nor their caddies damage the hole by standing close to it in handling the flagstick or in removing the ball from the hole. The flagstick should be properly replaced in the hole before the players leave the putting green.
Handling the flag1. Don't drop the flagstick on the putting surface as it will cause damage.
Removing BallPlayers are requested to NOT to use their putter to remove their golf ball from the hole. |
