Shirts for Zimbabwe

A Member of the Doon is heading to Southern Africa on a trip in early August.

He has made contact with the Zimbabwe Junior Golf Organisation and kindly offered to donate a number of his golf shirts for use by their juniors.

Any members kind enough to also donate golf shirts in good condition can drop these into the club's office over the next few weeks, and the member will pick them up before he leaves for Africa.

Oakley Deals

Oakley glasses have been discounted by 20% in the Golf Shop.

Bonnie Doon carries Oakley's Prizm Golf Lenses, which are specifically designed to increase contrast and give you better depth cues to help gauge distance and grass conditions.

A good set of sunglasses is an important part of any golfer's equipment!

Ping Fitting Day

The Club will be hosting a fitting day for members on 15 August.

This fitting day will feature the full Ping G400 Range, including the Ping GLe ladies clubs.

Members seeking the matchplay brackets for the 2BBB Championships can find them in either the Bookings and Fixtures or Major Events sections of the Bonnie Doon website.

Tom Robinson Lessons

Tom is currently on annual leave and will return on 1 August. He has opened his booking sheets for his return, so book in now for your lessons!

Driving Range

Members are reminded that all shots hit on the driving range are to be hit from the synthetic mats at the back of the teeing area. This is being done to protect the area during winter.

This includes tee shots that do not take divots.

We thank members in advance for their cooperation.

Wine Orders

Members who ordered wine through the Bar earlier in the year will be happy to know that the orders have come in.

Please see any of the staff in the Bar to collect your wine.

Members would all know that frost at Bonnie Doon is very unusual, given the close proximity to the ocean. Luckily, it warmed up into a lovely day.

Scratch Winners

Paul Todd takes out best scratch round of the week, bringing in an absolutely dominant 40 points off the stick on Sunday

Stuart Macaulay wasn't very far behind, bringing in 38 points on Saturday.

Robert Abeni brought in a solid 35 points to win the scratch prize on Wednesday.

Tony Wei rounds out our scratch winners for the week, bringing in 33 points on Monday.
