Junior Golf has always been an integral part of Bonnie Doon’s ethos. A number of our junior members have gone on to experience very successful amateur and professional careers.

Teaching

We break up the game into the following components and teach all aspects

Chipping
Pitching
Bunker play
Putting
Full swing
Rules
Etiquette

Trained professionals conduct the clinics providing tuition to the cadets.

Membership

Junior Membership

The main aim of the Junior Academy Program is to ready your children to join The Club and begin their exciting Golf Journey. We are not looking for elite players, but rather keen and enthusiastic members of the Club. We see the Cadets as an important part of the future of the Club and this is why we are so enthusiastic when it comes to opening the doors to Junior Members.

The club participates in a number of interclub tournaments, such as the Eric Apperly Shield, which will give your children an opportunity to grow as a golfer and as a member of the club.

While typically, membership is only open to those aged 14 years and over, those who exhibit golfing skill and a passion and enthusiasm for the sport at an earlier age may be considered.

Non-Member Junior Enquiries

There is no requirement to be a member of Bonnie Doon for your children to participate

Your children are able to begin taking lessons or participate in our Junior Golf Clinics regardless of your membership status at The Doon or at any golf club. Feel free to contact us.
Junior Golf at Bonnie Doon is an important aspect of the club, it is an educational but still enjoyable experience for your children

Equipment

All Thats Needed Is Available

At Bonnie Doon we use the best equipment available for children. We start the kids on SNAG Equipment, which is specially designed and weighted for kids and beginners.

When the time comes that your children are ready to move onto their first set of clubs, we recommend that they move on to either US Kids Golf or Sporte Leisure’s Niblick Junior Golf Clubs.
