Women’s Golf at Bonnie Doon
Bonnie Doon Golf Club was founded on September 29, 1897,a and is the 3rd oldest club in the Sydney Metropolitan area. On the 21st February 1898 ladies were invited to play on the course and four months later were admitted to the club as members, however, play for ladies was barred on Saturday, Sundays and public holidays.
Bonnie Doon Ladies have come a long way since then and Ladies now have the option of becoming Weekday or full members and indeed are able to play any time (with the exception of the men’s competition tee times).
The “Business Girls of Bonnie Doon” was founded in 1949 and are still strongly supported with allocated tee times every Sunday morning for weekly competition rounds and participation in metropolitan inter-club events.
The ladies at Bonnie Doon maintain their enthusiasm for golf and throughout the golfing year support both community and women’s charities via our “special event” charity golf days with places in the field highly sort after.
Bonnie Doon Golf Club is a private members golf club. The main competition days for Women are Tuesday and Sunday with an additional ball competition Friday morning when the option of playing in either an 9 or 18 hole ball competition is offered.
The course is a challenging but fair championship golf course and provides practice facilities including a full length driving range, chipping green and two putting greens.
